I figured my readers might want to know a little bit about me.
I cannot remember when I first got interested in cars or all things mechanical and electrical, but it was a long time ago ! From putting an engine on my newspaper delivery wagon to building an engine for my first car, it seems like I have almost always wanted to fix things.
After going to college for two years and then serving a short time in the US Naval Air Reserve, I went to work for Xerox corporation as an electronics technician.
Weekends and evenings, I was (and still am) a "car nut" I built a new engine for my own car, then one for my Wife's VW, then one for a friend .......... you know where this is going ...
I purchased a full fledged drag race car in 1978 and raced pretty regularly for at least 10 years. In 1985, myself and a friend started a small part time shop selling 4wd truck parts. After doing this part time for about a year, I had the opportunity to purchase an existing Automotive Machine Shop. I was getting a little tired of the hour and a half commute each day to downtown Washington DC, so I decided to go for it.
So here I am, still running a machine shop after 35 years.
My other hobbies include Amateur Radio, Computers, Radio Control Model Helicopters and just about anything mechanical or electronic.
I hope my experiences over the years will help you with your engine repairs !!
